Composition:

Each film-coated tablet contains:

• Calcium Carbonate (Algae Source) BP 1250 mg (Equivalent to elemental Calcium 500 mg)
• Vitamin D3 200 IU (Cholecalciferol USP)

Side Effects of

• Common: Irregular heartbeat, nausea, dry mouth, weakness, headache, metallic taste, muscle or bone pain, drowsiness.
• Rare: Hypercalcemia, constipation, diarrhea, loss of appetite.

Pharmacology:

• Calcium (Algae Source): Essential for building and maintaining strong bones. Prevents osteoporosis and fractures.
• Vitamin D3: Aids in calcium absorption and stimulates bone formation. It has a synergistic effect when combined with calcium, enhancing bone growth and strength.

Dosage & Administration:

1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet at night.

• Tablets should be taken orally.

Not recommended for children under 12 years.

Interactions:

• With medicines:
  • Reduces absorption of bisphosphonates, ciprofloxacin, fluorides, iron, levothyroxine, tetracycline, and zinc.
  • Absorption of calcium is reduced by corticosteroids.
  • Increased risk of hypercalcemia when combined with thiazide diuretics.
• With food and others: No significant interactions were reported.

Contraindications:

• Hypocalcemia and hypercalciuria.
• Metastatic calcification.
• Hypersensitivity to any components.

Overdose Effects:

• Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, anorexia, abdominal cramps, headache, constipation.
• Treatment: Stop therapy and ensure adequate rehydration.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Use should be based on a careful assessment of the risk-benefit ratio.

Precautions & Warnings:

• Caution in patients with renal impairment, sarcoidosis, hypercalcemia, and hypercalciuria.

Storage Conditions:

• Store below 30°C, away from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
